Terrariums

Back to the creations

A small miracle of nature within the walls of your home, asking for no particular care beyond being admired every day
A terrarium is a decorative piece made with living plants grown inside a clear glass container of varying size. The plants chosen for this little natural microcosm can vary, but they are generally tropical species: fittonia (pink forest flame, white tiger, dark pink green, sugar pink), chamaedorea, ficus pumila, hedera helix white wonder and ferns.
Pebbles, stones, sand or bark and moss complete the composition.
Thanks to photosynthesis, the plants inside the terrarium keep producing oxygen and carbon dioxide. The water vapour released as the plants breathe condenses on the glass and then falls back to the soil, returning to the roots and recreating the water cycle in miniature.
The leaves that grow old and fall to the ground help fertilise the soil in turn. A terrarium is, therefore, almost entirely self-sufficient.
